Firecrest

The Firecrest (Regulus ignicapillus) breeds in southern and central Europe, southern England and in the east it occurs as far east as the former Soviet Union. The Firecrest also breeds in western Turkey and northwestern Africa. The northernmost populations are migrating to western and southern Europe in winter.

The Waxwing  (Bombycilla garrulus)  breeds in the northern parts of Europe, Asia and western North America and is moving in unpredictable migration patterns from year to year.

Palm-nut Vulture

The palm-nut vulture (Gypohierax angolensis) or vulturine fish eagle, breeds in forest and savannah across sub-Saharan Africa.



Northern bald ibis

The northern bald ibis, hermit ibis, or waldrapp (Geronticus eremita)was once widespread across the Middle East, northern Africa, southern and central Europe. In 2019 there were about 700 wild birds remaining in southern Morocco, and fewer than 10 in Syria, where it was rediscovered in 2002 but where their number declined in the following years, maybe to zero.

The Goldcrest (Regulus regulusis Europe's smallest bird. Goldcrests populates a large geographical area covering most of Eurasia.
