Northern Cardinal

The Northern Cardinal (Cardinalis cardinalis) is a North American bird and it is also known as the redbird or common cardinal. The bird can be found in southern Canada, through the eastern United States from Maine to Texas and south through Mexico.

Red-headed Lovebird

The Red-headed Lovebird (Agapornis pullarius) also known as the Red-faced Lovebird.
The Red-headed Lovebird is  divided into two sub-species:
  •  Agapornis pullarius pullarius - occurs in Sierra Leone to Guinea, Sudan, Angola and Zaire, Sao Tome Island
  • Agapornis pullarius ugandae - occurs in Ethiopia to Uganda, extreme eastern Zaire, Rwanda and Tanzania

    Northern Harrier

    The Northern Harrier (Circus cyaneus) is a migratory bird that breeds across the northern parts of the northern hemisphere, in Canada, America and northern Eurasia. In winter, the Palearctic populations move to more southern areas of Europe, northern Africa and temperate Asia, and occurs as far north as in southern Sweden and northern Britain. The nearktiska populations move to the southern region of the U.S., to Mexico and Central America. In the milder breeding areas, such as France, Britain and southern U.S. the Northern Harrier can occur year round.

    Brown Creeper

    The brown creeper (Certhia americana), also known as the American tree creeper, is a small songbird, the only North American member of the treecreeper family.

    The Willow Tit (Parus montanus or Poecile montana) is widespread and common in temperate and subarctic parts of Europe and northern Asia.

    Smew

    Smew (Mergellus albellus) is a migratory bird that breeds in northern taiga belt in Scandinavia and northern Russia. It moves south for the winter and occurs locally in the Baltics, Central Europe, as far west as southern Britain, and east of Turkey, Iran, Iraq, Pakistan, northern India, China, Japan and Korea.

    Wood Pigeon

    Wood pigeon (Columba palumbus) occurs throughout Europe except for Iceland and the northern parts of Russia and Scandinavia. It is found also in western Asia and in a belt stretching from Turkey to the north-western India and western China. Wood pigeons are also found in parts of northwestern Africa. In the westernmost and southernmost parts of its range, the Wood pigeon is sedentary while others leave their breeding areas and migrating south for the winter.

    Iceland Gull

    The Iceland Gull(Larus glaucoides) nests in the arctic regions of Canada and Greenland. The northernmost populations are distinct migratory and are wintering in the North Atlantic as far south as the British Isles and northernmost states of eastern United States. Some birds spend the winter on the Great Lakes. Some populations that nest farther south, as in Greenland, only moves to the coast after breeding season.

    Himalayan Monal

    The Himalayan monal (Lophophorus impejanus) also known as the impeyan monal, impeyan pheasant. It is the national bird of Nepal, where it is known as danphe. The bird's natural range extends from eastern Afghanistan through the Himalayas in Pakistan, Kashmir region and the Republic of India.

    Pink-footed Goose

    The Pink-footed Goose (Anser brachyrhynchus) breed in Greenland, Svalbard, mainly in Spitzbergen and Iceland, especially in Hofsjökull-glacial catchment. The Pink-footed Goose is a migratory bird, and joins with other geese species during migration. Their winter range is located in the UK and Ireland, in Belgium and the Netherlands, northern Germany's coastal areas and in Denmark.

    Greater Scaup

    Scaup (Aythya marila) is a migratory bird that breeds in the circumpolar arctic and subarctic regions in Iceland, Scandinavia, Baltic States, northern Asia and Alaska and Canada. They nest primarily in lakes and wetlands in the tundra and the northern boundary of the taiga, but also nest sparingly on the coast in brackish water, for example, the Baltic Sea.

    Chukar Partridge

    The chukar partridge or chukar (Alectoris chukar) is a Eurasian upland gamebird in the pheasant family.This partridge has its native range in Asia, including Israel, Lebanon, Turkey, Iran, Afghanistan, Pakistan and India, along the inner ranges of the Western Himalayas to Nepal. The Chukar Partridge is the national bird of Pakistan.

    Meadow Pipit

    The Meadow Pipit (Anthus pratensis) nests in most areas in the northern part of Eurasia, but also on the northeastern and southeastern Greenland. Most of the world population are migratory birds that winter in western and southern Europe, northern Africa and Southeast Asia. The population that breeds in Ireland, the UK and western European coastal areas, are however resident birds.
    The Meadow Pipit breeds in moist meadows and pastures, in moors and mountain scenery.
    The bird feed during the summer months mainly on small diurnal insects and spiders of all kinds, in the winter with addition of small shells and seeds.

    Black-collared Lovebird

    The Black-collared Lovebird, Agapornis swindernianus also known as Swindern's Lovebird.

    The Black-collared Lovebird is divided into three subspecies:
    • Agapornis swindernianus swindernianus - occurs in patchy distribution Liberia, Ivory Coast and Ghana
    • Agapornis swindernianus zenkeri - occur in Cameroon to Gabon, southern Central African Republic and western Zaire
    • Agapornis swindernianus Emini - occurs in lowland forests of the DRC and Western Uganda

    European turtle dove

    The European turtle dove (Streptopelia turtur) is a migratory species with a southern Palearctic range covering most of Europe and the Middle East and including Turkey and north Africa, although it is rare in northern Scandinavia and Russia. It winters in southern Africa

    Tree Pipit

    The Tree Pipit (Anthus trivialis) nests in most of Europe and in parts of Asia as far east as the Eastern Siberia. The Tree Pipit is a migratory bird that winters in Africa and South Asia.
    The Tree Pipit prefers forest edges, clearings and meadows with individual trees.
    The bird forage on the ground, mainly insects, but sometimes it also eats seeds.

    Great Black-backed Gull

    The Great Black-backed gull's (Larus marinus) breeding areas are mostly coasts around Svalbard, Novaya Zemlya, Scandinavia, Estonia, Latvia, Ireland, the UK's west coast, Iceland, southern Greenland and along the west coast of Canada and the USA. Into the country they nest at some of the larger lakes in Sweden and Finland. Parts of the population are migratory birds, primarily populations that breed in Arctic regions. Others are sedentary, or move only short distances.
    The Great Black-backed Gull is shy and wary, and a loner in comparison to many other species in the genus.
    The Great Black-backed Gull is an opportunistic bird in terms of food and can be classified as omnivores.

    Tawny Owl

    Tawny Owl (Strix alucois common in woodlands across much of Eurasia. The bird is none migratory and highly territorial.

    Tawny Owl nests are usually in a hole in a tree, but they also use old magpie nests, squirrel nests or holes in buildings, and likes to use nest boxes.

    Tawny Owl hunts almost exclusively at night. The bird takes a large set of prey, mainly forest rodents, but also other mammals, up to a baby bunny's size, as well as birds, earthworms and beetles
