Northern Shoveler
The Northern Shoveler (Anas clypeata) nest in the northern regions of Europe and Asia, and across most of North America. The majority of the population are migratory birds.

The Northern Shoveler occurs in open, nutrient-rich wetland, with access to a dense protective vegetation, and moist grasslands, shallow plain lakes, swamps and marshes.

The Northern Shoveler eats aquatic vegetation, often by swinging its bill from side to side on the water surface. It also eats molluscs and insects during the nesting period.
