Marsh Harrier (Circus aeruginosus) nests in all of Europe, northwest Africa, northern parts of the Middle East and Central Asia. It nests in almost every country in Europe, but is absent in northern Scandinavia. Marsh Harrier is rare in the British Isles and currently doesn't breed in Ireland and Wales. In the Middle East you find populations in Turkey, Iraq and Iran and Central Asia extends the species' spread eastward as far as the north-western China, Mongolia and Lake Baikal region of Siberia.
