Arctic Tern
(Sterna paradisaea) is a migratory bird that breeds in colonies in the circumpolar arctic and subarctic regions of Europe, Asia and North America. The species is known to be the animal in the world that move the longest distance between their breeding grounds and their winter quarters, which are found in Antarctica. The populations that are moving, move about 40 000 km annually, equivalent to a lap around the earth.
