Black Skimmer

The Black Skimmer (Rynchops niger) is a tern-like seabird, one of three very similar birds species in the skimmer family. It breeds in North and South America. Northern populations winter in the warmer waters of the Caribbean and the tropical and subtropical Pacific coasts, but the South American races make only shorter movements in response to annual floods which extend their feeding areas in the river shallows. Skimmers have a light graceful flight, with steady beats of their long wings. They feed usually in large flocks, flying low over the water surface with the lower mandible skimming the water for small fish, insects, crustaceans and molluscs caught by touch by day or especially at night.


Razorbill

Razorbill (Alca torda) is most common in the Arctic Circle. Its breeding grounds are islands, rocky shores and cliffs located along the shores of the North Atlantic, eastern North America as far south as Maine, and in Western Europe from northwestern Russia to the north of France. North American birds are migrating and wintering at sea off the coast in an area stretching from the Grand Banks of Newfoundland to New England.
Razorbill is a colonial seabird That will only come to land in order to breed.

Northern Hawk Owl

The Northern Hawk Owl (Surnia ulula) occurs in northern North America, Europe and Asia.
The Hawk Owl normally occur in coniferous and preferably at the edge towards more open vegetation. The bird is partly active during the day.
The Hawk Owl places its nest in hollow trees or use other birds abandoned nests.
The main diet consists of small rodents and small birds.


Arctic Tern

Arctic Tern (Sterna paradisaea is a migratory bird that breeds in colonies in the circumpolar arctic and subarctic regions of Europe, Asia and North America. The species is known to be the animal in the world that move the longest distance between their breeding grounds and their winter quarters, which are found in Antarctica. The populations that are moving, move about 40 000 km annually, equivalent to a lap around the earth.

Cattle Egret

The Cattle Egret (Bubulcus ibis) is a cosmopolitan species of heron found in the tropics, subtropics and warm temperate zones. The Cattle Egret has undergone one of the most rapid and wide reaching natural expansions of any bird species. It was originally native to parts of Southern Spain and Portugal, tropical and subtropical Africa and humid tropical and subtropical Asia. In the end of the 19th century it began expanding its range into southern Africa. Cattle Egrets were first sighted in the Americas on the boundary of Guiana and Suriname in 1877, having apparently flown across the Atlantic Ocean. It was not until the 1930s that the species is thought to have become established in that area. The species first arrived in North America in 1941, bred in Florida in 1953, and spread rapidly, breeding for the first time in Canada in 1962. It is now commonly seen as far west as California.

Trumpeter Finch

Trumpeter Finch (Rhodopechys githaginea) is a small passerine bird belonging to the family finches. It breeds in the Canary Islands, in North Africa, Middle East and Central Asia.

Moorhen

The Moorhen (Gallinula chloropus) is a bird with an almost worldwide distribution.
The Moorhen is found at reedy shores and feed on small invertebrates, but also eat aquatic plants.

Grey Plover

The Grey Plover  (Pluvialis squatarola) nest mainly on arctic tundra, from northern Russia to Alaska and Canada. It is a migratory bird. It is estimated that the number kustpipare moving through western Europe in the spring amounts to 247,000 individuals. The population that breeds east of the Taimyr in Siberia, winters from southern and eastern Africa, through Arabia, India, Southeast Asia to Australia. The North American population winters from the U.S. east and west coasts south to Argentina and Chile.
Plovers feeds on worms, crustaceans, snails, insects and their larvae.

Guira Cuckoo

The Guira Cuckoo (Guira guira) is a social, non-parasitic cuckoo found widely in open and semi-open habitats of eastern and southern Brazil, Uruguay, Paraguay, Bolivia, and north-eastern Argentina. The Guira Cuckoo gives off a strong, pungent odour.

Long-billed Curlew

The long-billed curlew (Numenius americanus) is a large North American shorebird. This species was also called "sicklebird" and the "candlestick bird". The species is native to central and western North America. In the winter, the species migrates southwards, as well as towards the coastline.

The Coot's (Fulica atra) distribution extends over western North Africa, Europe and large parts of Central Asia to Japan and south to Australia and New Zealand.

Coot swims and dives well. It makes a small jump just before it dive and stays usually only for a short period under the surface.



The bird feeds both of plant parts, such as aquatic plants and algae, grass on land, and small animals such as insects and mussels.

Curlew

The Eurasian Curlew (Numenius arquata) breeds accross temperate Europe and Asia. The Curlew is migratory bird, wintering i Africa and south Europe and south Asia.
The bird's nest is a bare scrape on meadow.
The Curlew eats small invertebrates probed from soft mud.

Canary

The Atlantic Canary (Serinus canaria) is known worldwide simply as wild Canary. The domestic Canary is a jailbird who descended from wild Canary that inhabit the Atlantic archipelagos of the Canary Islands, Azores and Madeira Island. It feeds primarily of seeds and plant parts and during breeding also by insects.
For over 500 years, humans have domesticated this finch. It is mainly the song that has made ​​the canary so popular as pets.


Least Tern

The Least Tern (Sternula antillarum, formerly Sterna antillarum) is a species of tern that breeds in North America and locally in northern South America. It is migratory, wintering in Central America, the Caribbean and northern South America. Many spend their whole first year in their wintering area. It has occurred as a vagrant to Europe, with one record in Great Britain.



California Condor



The California Condor (Gymnogyps californianus) is a New World vulture, the largest North American land bird. This condor inhabits northern Arizona and southern Utah (including the Grand Canyon area and Zion National Park), coastal mountains of central and southern California, and northern Baja California. The condors live in rocky shrubland, coniferous forests, and oak savannas.Wild condors inhabit large territories, often traveling 250 km (160 mi) a day in search of carrion.

Winter Wren

The Winter Wren (Troglodytes hiemalisoccurs throughout most of Europe, in a belt of Asia from northern Iran and Afghanistan to Japan, and North America. The northern breeding populations are migratory.
